Day 8 of 12 Days: Giftwrapping Tips

Now that you have picked out gifts for the ladies and gentlemen in your life, here are some unique ways to wrap them up!

You can never go wrong with traditional wrapping paper and premade bow. With wrapping paper, there are countless designs and colors to choose from. From a single color to multiple colors, stripes to polka dots, metallic to matte, or glitter to shimmery foil, there are several options to choose from. You could even put the gift(s) in a giftbox, either from the store you bought them or from a crafts store that have holiday-themed gift boxes.

However, if you want to get a little creative with your giftwrapping skills, one way of doing so is by using holiday greeting cards. This is particularly for smaller gifts due to the small size of greeting cards. With this giftwrapping idea, you’ll be creating a small giftbox out of a card. You’ll need one holiday greeting card of your choice, scissors, and tape. Follow the template below for further instructions!

First, use the scissors to separate the two sides of the card. Fold where the black lines are and cut where the red lines are. Next, fold the grey sides in, then the blue and tape the blue together. After, fold the green side against the taped blue pieces as you fold over the orange section and tape down. Do this to both sides of the card to create a perfect little giftbox!

A simpler giftwrapping idea is to use craft rolls (or the cardboard roll of toilet paper). Place the small gift in the roll, wrap the roll in wrapping paper, and tie the ends with string or twine. And that’s it! Or, after placing the gift inside the roll, you can then fold the ends inward, then tie it with string.

Another giftwrapping idea is to use magazine pages instead of wrapping paper. You are more likely to have magazines laying around your house versus wrapping paper. So grab a few magazines and look through them to find pages that have the recipients’ favorite topics on them. Once you’ve chosen the pages, wrap the gifts like you normally would with wrapping paper. To top it off, you can either use ribbon, string, or twine to tie a bow.

Whichever method you choose to giftwrap, your loved ones will surely love it.
