Shades of beige, ivory, khaki, white, grey, nude, brown, taupe, and black are a some of the key colors to having a neutral outfit. The monochromatic neutrals trend is great for layering and playing with different textures.
Below, I have a chart that shows how some of the key neutral colors can be paired with one another for your #ootd.
When you’re wearing corresponding neutrals, you can have fun with various textures and fabrics. A few textures are coarse, fuzzy, and smooth. Some fabrics include denim, wool, leather, satin/silk, cotton, and tweed. You can also play on different tailoring techniques, like creating fringe, pleating, and weaving.
When layering neutrals, you can wear a wool coat with a fringed scarf and leather boots as you have a basic cotton top and bottom. This way, you can mix textures and fabrics while maintaining neutral tones. For more info on layering, check out my last blog post!
