The weather is getting warmer, which means it’s shorts season! As a Cali girl, I am no stranger to consistent warm weather, so having an arsenal of shorts is essential. Urban Outfitters, Topshop, ASOS, Brandy Melville, Nordstrom, and Free People have great options for shorts. Whether you’re looking for denim, beach, dolphin, tailored, low-rise, mid-rise, high-rise, cuffed, or distressed shorts, these retailers have them all.
There are many ways to style your shorts, whether you’re going for a casual, beachy, semi-formal, or preppy look. For a casual or relaxed look, denim or dolphin, otherwise known as runner shorts, with a simple tee and sneakers is the way to go. Pom-pom hemmed dolphin shorts give a beachy vibe as they are typically loose-fitting as you can pair them with a bodysuit, tank top, or t-shirt and strappy sandals. For a semi-formal style, you can wear a button-down blouse with denim shorts and flats or a cold-shoulder cami with tailored shorts and wedge sandals. Seersucker or pleated mid-length shorts with a simple tee and sandals or a scalloped tank and espadrilles will show your preppy side.

Regardless of the style, it’s all about finding the right pair for you. Keep in mind of textiles, patterns, colors, length, fit, and overall design. With temperatures rising, it is important to stay cool and comfortable. With an array of varying shorts, you’ll be able to dress for any occasion this season.
